Ok, I finally read the chapter… and … Wow…

Leo wanted to send Oz to the Abyss?! Why?! Was it because he said he wouldn’t help him or was it his plan from the beginning?

And, seriously, Vince would NEVER kill Gil (though I suppose he could hurt him), that gun was barely a threat… I believe Vince wasn’t really intending to use it (but still…).

And… poor Lady Rainsworth… I liked her, she was a cute old lady…
Do you really believe Duke Barma would kill her? If it was him, then why where there so many black feathers around the body (did Barma’s chain have black feathers?)?
When I saw the feathers I thought immediately about Jabberwock (improbable), then I thought about Raven (But no, never Raven, that’s highly improbable), and finally I thought about Gryffon (could that be possible?)…
I find it hard to believe Barma was the one to kill Lady Rainsworth, because she was actually the sole person he seemed to really care about and because, I can be very dim sometimes, but I really can’t see how her death would benefit him. Plus, he was covered in blood and he doesn’t look like the messy type killer at all.
But I’m probably wrong… truth is we don’t know Duke Barma that well…

I have a theory with Barma, Ada and I were thinking this out last night.

Rufus has a contract with the Dodo, which has black feathers, but also the power to create illusions (when we first meet him ect.) What if he was making an illusion of lady Reinsworth's death and they both are planning something together? It doesn't seem like Rufus to just kill someone without good reason. I don't know.

And as for Vincent God knows what will happen with him and Gilbert. I think its more deep than him just revealing his true nature as a sociopath ><

I agree with you and Ada, that would make sense. I can’t believe Barma would just kill Lady Rainsworth and an "act" looks like exactly what they would do. I just feel a little insecure because of Break… I think that, if it really is a setup / an illusion, Break would know right away, wouldn’t he? Except… if he’s on it with them… hmmm

My only issue with the theory that Cheryl's murder/wounding was an illusion is that why would Ruf be walking away covered in blood? Surely that wouldn't be part of the illusion... I'm beginning to despair - I think he really did kill her.

You’re right. If it was an illusion why would he be all covered in blood (seemingly) outside of the illusion? But don’t despair already! What if it is his own blood? He could have tried to protect her and now he might be in pursuit of her killer?
And you’re right about another thing… she can be still alive.

I hadn't thought about him pursuing her killer... that's actually a very big possibility. But wait - how do we explain the feathers then?! Aghhh I can't wait until the next chapter's out and all is explained!
